Fusil Appalachien Foxfire

Here’s a few pictures of the rifle inspired by Hershel House instructions in the volume 5 of the Foxfire book series.
As simple as a rifle can be. Wood, barrel and lock, the rest of the parts are forged in mild steel.
13/16″ straight barrel in .36 caliber and 36″ length. Nock flintlock by Buck Ridge Flintlocks. Ash stock stained with my wrought iron aqua fortis. The rear sight is in wrought iron, the front sight has a blade made from a silver quarter an an iron base.
The forced patina was made using my homebrew mix of aqua fortis and ferric chloride.
The grease hole is filled with a mix of black bear tallow and beeswax.
Everything was made using traditional handtools.
